The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

FRIDAY BETTORS' TIPS AND NOTES
Friday’s Betting Tips: Mets Surging Behind Gee
By Covers Staff

Who's Hot

NHL: The under is 17-6-3 in Vancouver’s last 26 games as a favorite.

MLB: The New York Mets are 8-0 in Dillon Gee’s last eight starts.

MLB: The over is 8-3 in the last Chicago White Sox games.

Who’s Not

NHL: Just one of the last eight meetings between the Canucks and Bruins have played over.

MLB: Cleveland is 9-25 in its last 34 meetings with the Yankees in New York.

MLB: Kansas City has won just seven of its last 26 overall.

Key Stat

6 – Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder had six home runs in seven games this month heading into Thursday’s action. He swatted two big flies in Wednesday’s 7-6 comeback victory over the Mets and now leads the Brewers with 21 multi-homer games. His 17 home runs this season have him tied for the NL lead and his 55 RBIs top the majors.

Injury That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

Joba Chamberlin, New York Yankees – The Yankees knew they would be without Chamberlin for a while, but it sounds like the big right-hander could be out a lot longer than expected after tests revealed a torn ligament in his throwing elbow. Early reports indicate Chamberlin may require Tommy John surgery, meaning he could be out for a full year. At any rate, the Yanks are now without their seventh and eighth inning guys out of the bullpen as Rafael Soriano is also on the shelf.

Game Of The Day

Boston Bruins at Vancouver Canucks (-170, 5.5) – Oddsmakers had the Canucks originally set around -150 before the line was bet up to as high as -175 as of Thursday evening.

Notable Quotable

"Louie is going to be fine," "He's one of the best goaltenders in the League. We've got a lot of trust and faith in him, in his ability to play well." – Vancouver Canucks coach Alain Vigneault about goaltender Roberto Luongo, who was torched for 12 goals in two games in Boston and pulled in the third period of Wednesday’s loss. Early reports indicate Luongo will be back in goal for Game 5.

Tips And Notes

If you’re thinking about betting either the Yankees or Red Sox on Friday, don’t forget that they didn’t throw the opening pitch of their series finale until after 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the Bronx. New York hosts the Indians Friday evening and is currently listed at -155. Boston is at Toronto as a -140 road favorite.

Somebody had to take the fall for the Florida Marlins’ dismal offensive output and that guy ended up being hitting coach John Mallee, who was fired following Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves. Former big leaguer Eduardo Perez takes over for Mallee, who had been with the organization for 10 years. The move wasn’t welcomed in the clubhouse, but with the Fish sliding after being 10 games above .500 on May 26 and the club hovering around the break-even mark now, something had to give. “We need to find a way to score some runs," Florida’s president of baseball operations Larry Beinfest told reporters. “We need to stop this. We need to win some ball games."

The San Antonio Silver Stars are coming off a 14-20 season that saw them go 15-18-1 against the spread. This year, they have a lot of new faces in the lineup and their early schedule is helping them get accustomed to one another. San Antonio enjoyed a five-day break after hammering the Tulsa Shock 93-73 and the Silver Stars are now just 4-point road dogs for Friday’s tilt. "(The long layoff) is good for us, with a lot of new faces, just having the ability to keep practicing and evolving with our team," center Ruth Riley told the club's official website. "... We were able to watch a lot of film after the first game and see the mistakes that we made and get on the floor and hopefully correct a lot of those."

Friday's Best NHL Bet

Boston Bruins at Vancouver Canucks (-170, 5)

The books posted Vancouver as a -150 favorite for Game 5 and that number was already up to as high as -175 by Thursday evening. If you caught the last two games of the series in Boston, you have to be wondering about the line move.

The Bruins did everything better than the Canucks over the last two games. They were faster to every puck, dominated the physical battles and Tim Thomas pulled his magician routine in the blue paint while Roberto Luongo looked like a lost puppy in the cage at the other end.

Instead of igniting the Canucks, Aaron Rome’s devastating hit on Nathan Horton has invigorated the Bruins and that in itself might be enough to get them another win in Vancouver.

Then again, you can’t count the Canucks out just yet.

They’re still getting a ton of shots on goal and if nothing else, they can’t be any worse than they’ve been over the last six periods. We’ve seen this sort of implosion from them already this spring and it's important to see the big picture here.

“You know, if somebody would have told me at the beginning of the year that we could play for the Stanley Cup, best two-out-of-three series with home-ice advantage in front of our fans, I would have taken those odds,” Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault I would have taken that any time to play for the big prize.”

If you’re willing to shell out -170 or -175 on a team that was just outscored 12-1 in a two-game span, be our guest. That said, the under continues to be where the value is in this series and that’s unlikely to change from here on out.

Just one of the last eight meetings between the two clubs have played over and Vancouver is hammering the under at home (16-5-2) and as a favorite (17-6-3).

The goals in Boston were fun but this series will be won with defense and goaltending.

PICK: Under

Bruins at Canucks Game 5: What Bettors Need To Know
By Covers Staff

Boston Bruins at Vancouver Canucks (-150, 5)
Series Tied 2-2

THE STORY: The Canucks left Vancouver in control and return home in tatters. Two disastrous games in Boston have the Canucks level with the Bruins at two games apiece in the Stanley Cup Final. Game 5 goes Friday night at Rogers Arena, and Vancouver fans are undoubtedly wondering which Canucks team will show up: The one that dominated the first two games at home or the club that was outscored 12-1 in Beantown.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, NBC, CBC

ABOUT THE CANUCKS: Everything went wrong for the Canucks in Boston. Goaltender Roberto Luongo suffered his second meltdown of the postseason, surrendering 12 goals in just over five periods before giving way to backup Cory Schneider. The offense couldn't muster anything against Boston netminder Tim Thomas, whose 38-save performance was the highlight of Boston's 4-0 triumph Wednesday night. The Canucks even lost a defenseman when Aaron Rome was suspended for the remainder of the final for knocking Bruins forward Nathan Horton out of the series. Vancouver now looks to regroup at home, where it has gone 9-3 in the postseason so far.

ABOUT THE BRUINS: A series that looked like it might be a duel between Vezina Trophy candidates Thomas and Luongo has suddenly become ridiculously one-sided in Thomas's favor. The 37-year-old netminder has surrendered just five goals in the series and was at his best in Game 4, keeping Vancouver's high-powered offense off the scoresheet for just the second time in the playoffs. Boston got a pair of goals from Rich Peverley, who was sensational in Horton's spot on the top line. If the Bruins can steal a Game 5 victory in Vancouver, history will be on their side heading into Game 6. They're 40-8-8 at home all-time against the Canucks.

WHO'S HOT/WHO'S NOT: Nobody is hot for Vancouver - least of all Luongo, who may be on a short leash in Game 5. Bruins F David Krejci had a pair of assists Wednesday to wrestle the playoff scoring lead away from Vancouver's Henrik Sedin. Krejci has 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 22 games.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Both teams went 0 for 4 with the man advantage in Game 4. Vancouver is now a dismal 1 for 20 on the power play in the series.

TRENDS:

* Under is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings in Vancouver.
* Home team is 4-0 in the last four meetings.
* Under is 5-1-2 in the last eight meetings.

LAST WORD: Thomas has now made the second-most saves of any goaltender in a single postseason with 701. Vancouver's Kirk McLean holds the record with 761 stops during the Canucks' run to the Stanley Cup Final in 1994.

HOT LINES

Friday’s Best MLB Bets

Oakland Athletics at Chicago White Sox (-140, 8.5)

It’s always tricky betting baseball teams that have just changed managers. Some teams react to the switch better to others.

Bob Geren was fired after Wednesday’s loss and replaced by interim skipper Bob Melvin, but like a number of Oakland’s players have said already – Geren took the fall for the club’s poor play. And it’s not like they loved the guy or anything.

What Melvin is – reportedly, anyway – is a good communicator, which is an attribute that was never attached to Geren’s resume.

"Bob's got the rest of this year to make an impact," Billy Beane told reporters. "He's got a big job ahead of him. We'll see how it goes. I have a lot of confidence Bob will have a positive impact."

He probably will, but that won’t help A’s bettors in the short term. Thanks to an ailing pitching staff, Graham Godfrey makes his MLB debut on Friday. Godfrey has been great at Triple-A Sacramento but he comes into a real mess here.

PICK: Chicago White Sox

Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles (+125, 8)

It looks like that nasty flu bug that ripped its way through the Rays’ lineup may have been even worse that anybody was letting on.

"I felt like death for about two days there," Evan Longoria told reporters earlier this week. "I feel 100 percent better today. I'm glad to wake up and feel like I did because it wasn't fun."

While Longoria was battling the stomach virus and a fever that got over 100 degrees, the Rays were heating up on the field with a series sweep of the Angels before enjoying an off day on Thursday.

Now they head back to the diamond healthy and with the surging Jeremy Hellickson on the hill. Hellickson has a 2.64 ERA on the season and has allowed just one run over the last 14 innings.

Tampa Bay has won 10 of its last 13 dates in Baltimore and we’ll happily jump on the road chalk in this spot.

PICK: Tampa Bay Rays

MLB NEWS AND NOTES
Friday Betting Tips
By Kevin Rogers

Only one week remains before a healthy dose of interleague play begins around baseball, dominating a two-week stretch through the end of June. The Friday night baseball card showcases many important matchups, especially in the loaded AL East. The Red Sox head north of the border to battle the feisty Blue Jays, while the Yankees look to get back on track against the slumping Indians. We'll start at Camden Yards as the O's attempt to keep up their winning ways at home against Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles - 7:05 PM EST

The defending AL East champs rebounded from dropping three of four at Seattle to sweeping the Angels in Anaheim. The Rays battle the Orioles for the 10th time this season, as the road team is 8-1 in the first nine meetings. Baltimore is riding a three-game winning streak after sweeping Oakland out of town, while the O's are 9-2 the last 11 home contests. Now the Orioles will try to do something they haven't done all season, which is beating the Rays at home.

Jake Arrieta (7-3, 4.93 ERA) leads the O's in wins, while beating the Jays in his last start by allowing three earned runs in six innings of work. Arrieta has turned in quality outings in eight of his previous 11 trips to the mound, while the 'over' is 8-3-2 in his 13 starts this season. The former TCU standout picked up a win as a road underdog at Tropicana Field in mid-May, limiting the Rays to four hits and two earned runs in six innings of a 9-3 rout.

The Rays send out Jeremy Hellickson (7-3, 2.64 ERA), who continues to be a force in the impressive Tampa Bay rotation. The right-hander owns a 5-1 mark and ERA of 2.93 on the highway, including a 3-2 victory at Seattle his last time out as road 'chalk.' Hellickson has owned the Orioles this season with a pair of wins by tossing 14 scoreless innings and scattering seven hits.

Cleveland Indians at New York Yankees - 7:05 PM EST

The hottest team through the first seven weeks of the season is currently one of its coldest at the moment as Cleveland travels to the Bronx to battle the Yankees. The Indians started the season at 30-15, but Manny Acta's squad is 4-11 the last 15 contests to own just a one-game lead over the Tigers in the AL Central. The Yankees have problems of their own after losing another series to the hated Red Sox to fall back into second place in the AL East.

New York will try to get back on track with Ivan Nova (4-4, 4.50 ERA) toeing the rubber on Friday night. The 24-year old righty lost his last time out against the Angels, despite putting up a quality outing in a 3-2 defeat as a $1.25 road underdog. Nova has allowed 21 hits in his last two home starts against the Mets and Royals, while the 'under' is 4-2 in his six home outings. The Yankees are riding a nice 'over' run at home with a 7-1-1 mark the last nine games in the Bronx.

The Indians counter with Fausto Carmona (3-7, 5.33 ERA), who is looking for his first win in five weeks. The last time Carmona picked up a victory was on May 5 at Oakland, as the right-hander has dropped four straight decisions (all non-quality starts). Carmona's worst numbers have come on the road by compiling a 1-4 record and ERA of 5.89 away from Progressive Field. Facing the Yankees isn't going to help Carmona's cause, losing each of his last three starts against the Bombers since a 22-4 victory in April 2009.

Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays - 7:05 PM EST

Boston's 0-6 start is now a distant memory as the Sox are 35-20 the last 55 games to take over first place in the AL East. Terry Francona's team continues their road trip in Toronto, as the Red Sox and Blue Jays have split the first six meetings this season. The Jays return to Rogers Center from a 4-2 road swing to pull above the .500 mark, while going for their third straight home win over Boston.

Following 28 consecutive starts without a win, Blue Jays' southpaw JoJo Reyes (2-4, 4.16 ERA) has won two straight outings. Reyes put together a complete game gem against the Indians to snap the winless streak, while capitalizing off that triumph with a 7-4 victory at Baltimore his last time out. The left-hander is going deep into home starts by tossing at least seven innings in each of his previous four outings.

Clay Buchholz (4-3, 3.82 ERA) was knocked around early in his last start against the A's, giving up four runs in the opening inning. However, Boston rallied back for an 8-6 win to get the righty off the hook to cash as $2.00 favorites. Buchholz has turned into a solid 'under' pitcher away from Fenway Park by nailing the 'under' five of six times on the highway. Pitching at Rogers Center usually means a victory for Buchholz, who has won each of his last four starts in Toronto since 2009.

Hondo

The dreadful Dodgers collapsed collosally last night in Colorado, causing Hondo a bit of financial discomfort as the deficit to grow to 1,235 ceys.

Tonight, Mr. Aitch will stick with the Dodgers for a 10-unit play on Chad (not Barbara) Billingsley. Also, he will heed the suspect counsel of none other than Tim "Timmy GoodTimes" Bontemps, who is virtually certain Hellickson will provide a Ray payday -- 10 units.
